Made from 70mm thick French Oak or Iroko, the Carpenter’s Table is a statement piece in any home. The rough finish and oil sealant give this table it’s raw aesthetic and charm. The leg is designed with dry joints making it fully removable – a very traditional technique based on the strength of the end grain of the timber. The legs can be firmly knocked into place to assemble. This design is inspired by 18-century French Workbenches that had to be robust and have removable legs to allow it to be transported from building site to building site. The tops of the heavy leg served as an anvil for hammering on. Please note that French Oak is a very character filled timber and characteristics such as knots, cracks and discolouration should not be considered as defects. This design is for indoor use only. We make all our tables to order and to size in increments of 100mm (both in terms of length and width).
