The Clay Series was developed and discovered out of curiosity to work with earth and clay. The rich and varied color palette of nature discovered while gardening was the inspiration. Digging up "dirt" with hands and mixing different shades, applied to the canvas as a sensual process makes this art work very personal. The Earth tones have a very calming effect while the texture adds depth and movement. A big part of this series are the custom frames. Different cut outs create an "imperfection" that make your eyes pause.
